Summary

This bill would require the Department of Education (DOE) to distribute information about the IDNYC municipal identification program to every student grades 9 through 12 at the start of each school year. At a minimum, this legislation would require DOE to provide every student with an IDNYC application form, as well as information about IDNYC eligibility requirements, the application process, including but not limited to a list of documents accepted to prove IDNYC identity and residency requirements, and the relevant benefits and discounts provided to IDNYC cardholders.
