3. Data sources

Legislative data is sourced from public records published by the New York City Council through the city's Legistar legislative information system and the NYC Open Data platform, and is reused under the applicable open data terms. OpenCongress is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the New York City Council or the City of New York.

AI-generated summaries are provided for convenience and may contain errors. Official records are available on the New York City Council's legislation portal at council.nyc.gov.

4. Intellectual property

The OpenCongress name, logo, and the design and presentation of the Service are protected by copyright. The underlying legislative data remains in the public domain or under its original open data terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and not to attempt to disrupt it, scrape it at a rate that degrades service for others, or misrepresent AI-generated content as official council records.

6. Personal data

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your data and delete your account from your profile settings.

7. Limitation of liability

The information on the Service is provided for general informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, OpenCongress does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of the legislative information displayed, and is not liable for decisions made in reliance on it.

8. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Changes are published on this page with a revised update date. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
