Summary

The proposed legislation would require payment of prevailing wages to security guards and fire guards providing security services at homeless shelters operated pursuant to contracts with the Department of Homless Services (“DHS”). The proposed legislation would place a limitation on subcontracting for shelter and fire guards at contracts less than $20,000 without approval by the DHS Commissioner.
