A Local Law in relation to requiring a study and report on the effects of tourism on DUMBO

Summary

This bill would require the Commissioner of Small Business Services to include in the next contract the Department of Small Business Services (SBS) executes with the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) requirements that EDC study and develop recommendations regarding the effects tourism has on the quality of life in DUMBO. This bill would also require the Commissioner to include in the contract a requirement that EDC, within 6 months of contract execution, submit a report summarizing the study and recommendations to the Mayor, the Speaker of the Council, the Brooklyn Borough President, and each Council Member with jurisdiction over DUMBO and publish the report online.
