A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to civil penalties for failure to remove snow or ice

Summary

This bill would prohibit the Department of Sanitation (“DSNY”) from imposing civil penalties on property owners for failure to remove snow or ice from abutting sidewalks until DSNY has completed the removal of snow or ice from streets under its jurisdiction and the Department of Transportation and the Department of Parks and Recreation have certified to the DSNY Commissioner that such agencies have completed snow and ice removals at infrastructure under their respective jurisdictions.
