Summary

This bill would require the Fire Department to provide emergency responders with mental health support services and information designed to reduce the effects of psychological trauma emergency responders may experience during and after critical incidents. The services would include expanded availability of clinicians and peer support profession, voluntary wellness information sessions, posting information on available resources on FDNY’s website and in department facilities, and providing training to supervisors on first responder mental health.
