Summary

This bill would require the Police Commissioner, in consultation with the Commissioner of Transportation, to train police officers on the enforcement of New York City rules on parking, stopping, and standing that are applicable to commercial vehicles, including trucks, and on truck routing. Police recruits would have to be trained as part of their police academy training and uniformed members of the Police Department would have to be trained every 2 years. The Police Commissioner must consult with the Commissioner of Transportation to periodically review, and revise as appropriate, the training curricula based on changes in rules and relevant Police Department policies.
