Description

Annual study to identify non-operational schools and the subsequent removal of speed cameras from eliminated school speed zones.

Last recorded step: Introduced.

Not on any published Council agenda we hold.

This bill would require the Commissioner of Transportation, in consultation with the Chancellor of New York City Public Schools, to conduct an annual study to determine which schools in the City are non-operational and accordingly which school speed zones selected for speed camera installation under the Vehicle and Traffic Law no longer exist. The Commissioner would be required to remove speed cameras that are located in these eliminated zones.
