Summary

This bill would require the Commissioner of Emergency Management to work with relevant agencies to develop plans to prepare for a federal government shutdown by September 1, 2025. The Commissioner would be required to assess the plans when they are activated and again at least once every two years. The bill requires the Commissioner to report any changes to the plans to the City Council no more than 60 days after the assessment is completed. The Commissioner would also be required to publicly post any plans on the department’s website no more than 30 days after the plan is submitted to the City Council. The Commissioner would not have to report any plans that could compromise public safety.
