A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring that electric bicycles and electric scooters that are part of share systems have speedometers and limit electric speed assistance to new riders

Summary

This bill would require that e-bikes and e-scooters that are part of self-service share systems have functioning speedometers. In addition, it would require that, when used by new riders, the electric speed assistance on the e-bike or e-scooter would cease to function when the device reaches a speed of 10 miles per hour.
