Description

Requiring that electric bicycles and electric scooters that are part of share systems have speedometers and limit electric speed assistance to new riders.

This bill would require that e-bikes and e-scooters that are part of self-service share systems have functioning speedometers. In addition, it would require that, when used by new riders, the electric speed assistance on the e-bike or e-scooter would cease to function when the device reaches a speed of 10 miles per hour.
