A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring the police department to provide security details to elected and appointed city officials that receive threats

Summary

This bill would require NYPD to assign a security detail to any elected or appointed city official that receives a credible threat to their safety. The size, scope, and duration of the security detail would be left to the discretion of the NYPD commissioner. The elected or appointed official may opt-out of receiving a security detail.
