A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring AM broadcast receivers in vehicles of the city fleet and city-contracted vehicles

Summary

This bill would require that vehicles in the New York City fleet and vehicles used to fulfill a contract with the City be equipped with AM broadcast receivers. The Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) may inspect these vehicles for compliance with these requirements. This requirement would become operative 12 months after the bill’s effective date. The requirement concerning City-contracted vehicles would apply only to contracts registered by the Comptroller on or after this bill’s effective date. The bill would require DCAS to report annually on compliance with the requirements of this bill.
