A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to newsrack requirements and enforcement

Summary

This bill would require newsrack owners to provide their email address to the Department of Transportation (“DOT”) when registering a newsrack, and permit DOT to communicate with those newsrack owners electronically. It would also expand DOT’s authority to seize newsracks that are in violation of the rules and regulations governing newsracks if the owner fails to correct the violation after receiving notice from the Department.
