Summary
This bill would prevent the Police Commissioner from issuing a sound device or apparatus permit to any applicant who had uncorrected violations or unpaid fines or penalties related to certain provisions of the Noise Code. The bill would also make future and existing commercial music variances issued by the Department of Environmental Protection no longer available to open-air stadiums, theaters, or fields within 100 feet of residential zoning districts. Finally, this bill would increase civil penalties for violations of Noise Code provisions related to commercial music.
