Summary

This bill would require the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development and landlords to provide financial assistance to qualifying low-income tenants who are displaced by housing demolition, substantial rehabilitation, change of use, or removal of rent or income restrictions. It would also require landlords to provide such tenants with 90-days’ notice and information about tenants’ rights before displacing tenants in connection with demolition, substantial rehabilitation, change of use, or the removal of rent or income restrictions.
