Summary

This bill would require permit holders on all construction sites to create and adhere to a heat action plan, detailing measures to curtail heat illness among construction workers, including hydration stations, access to shade, personal protection equipment, and medical monitoring when the heat stress threshold reaches 85 degrees Fahrenheit. This bill would also preclude permit holders from conducting work pursuant to a Department of Buildings-issued permit when the temperature reaches an extreme heat stress threshold of 95 degree Fahrenheit, or a temperature not less than 95 degrees Fahrenheit as determined by rule of the Department of Buildings, unless otherwise authorized to continue work to address an immediately hazardous condition.
