Summary

This bill would require the Police Department (NYPD) to create program in which homeowners and their tenants may provide notice to their local police precinct that their home will be vacant for a period of 21 days or more. The bill would also require the NYPD to create a vacant home registry, with information about all homes for which notice of vacancy has been provided. The registry would make available copies of the vacancy notice filed for a home upon the request of the homeowner.
