Summary

This bill would require the Commissioner of Emergency Management, in consultation with the Office of the Mayor and community boards, to identify and designate facilities within each community district to serve as rapid emergency response centers. Each center would be required to stock supplies for residents that have been displaced by a natural human-caused disaster. This bill would also require the Commissioner of Emergency Management, in consultation with the Commissioner of Citywide Administrative Services, to submit an annual report to the Mayor and the Speaker regarding the inventory of supplies in each community district’s rapid emergency response center.
