A Local Law in relation to establishing a task force to study and report on training provided to members of the police department

Summary

This bill would establish a task force to study the NYPD Police Academy’s training curriculum, and would require the task force to submit a report to the Mayor and the Speaker of the Council that includes recommendations for a new training curriculum that focuses on de-escalation tactics, cultural sensitivity and policing in minority communities.
