Summary

This bill would create a sex worker opportunity program in the Mayor’s Office for Equity to provide grants to community organizations working directly with people who engage in sex work, prohibit housing discrimination based on a person’s current or former employment in sex work, create a dedicated review and enforcement board in the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection to highlight the unique unfair work practices affecting people who engage in sex work and provide them with information related to their rights, require the Administration for Children’s Services to submit a yearly report related to any such cases where information related to an individual’s participation in sex work is highlighted in the process of the case, and amend the city privacy laws to protect against the disclosure of a person’s status as a sex worker.
