Summary

This bill would clarify that all dwelling occupants, including condominium owners and tenants, are protected by the Pet Law, which prohibits the enforcement of no-pet lease terms against an occupant who openly and notoriously harbors a pet in violation of the terms of a lease for at least three months. The waiver would continue to allow the occupant to replace pets with pets of the same species, and would apply to occupants that have a pet in the five years before this law is enacted.
