Summary

This bill would require the Department of Citywide Administrative Services, in coordination with the Mayor’s Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability, to complete the installation of 100 megawatts of solar photovoltaic systems on the roofs of city-owned buildings by the end of 2025 and 150 megawatts on the roofs of city-owned buildings and other properties, including parking lots and industrial areas, by the end of 2030. A plan to meet the 2030 threshold must be created by the end of 2026. The department would be required to maintain and operate the systems and prioritize buildings in disadvantaged communities.
