A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to creating an informational campaign concerning workers’ rights under the earned safe and sick time act

Summary

This bill would require the commissioner of Consumer and Worker Protection to engage in best efforts to inform employers, employment agencies, employees, and job applicants about their rights and responsibilities. Such an informational campaign would include, but not be limited to, a joint effort with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to create and distribute posters, flyers, and other written materials concerning employee rights at pharmacies, doctor’s offices, and other appropriate facilities. The bill would also invite the New York City Health + Hospitals Corporation to participate in the distribution of such educational written materials to the public.
