A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the repeal of section 10-181 of such code relating to unlawful methods of restraint during an arrest or attempted arrest

Summary

This bill would remove a prohibition on police officers from using a chokehold or compressing a person’s diaphragm while making or attempting to make an arrest. This bill would be retroactive to July 15, 2020.
