Summary

The proposed legislation would require the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) to conduct a study on transmission of COVID-19 in various modes of transportation within New York city, including but not limited to, subways, buses, taxicabs and for-hire vehicles, and pedestrian travel. No later than six months after completion of the study, DOHMH would be required to submit to the Mayor and the Speaker of the Council, and post conspicuously on its website, a report detailing the findings of the study and recommendations for preventing transmission of COVID-19 in such various modes of transportation.
