A Local Law to amend the New York city charter, in relation to establishing a special inspector of labor within the department of investigation

Summary

This bill would require the Commissioner of the Department of Investigation (DOI) to appoint a special inspector of labor who would be responsible for coordinating the labor enforcement activities of DOI that relate to city contracts. In addition, if a DOI investigation finds that a city contractor or potential city contractor is or has engaged in violations of labor or employment law, the special inspector of labor would be required to make such findings public, unless the information is confidential or would affect an ongoing investigation.
