A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to certain estimated bills by the department of environmental protection

Summary

This bill would require the Department of Environmental Protection to undertake measures to attempt to obtain actual meter readings including making an appointment with the customer or such other person who controls access to the meter for a reading during business hours, or offering the customer the opportunity to phone in or submit online a meter reading or taking such other steps as may be needed to ensure that the customer receives a timely meter reading.
