Summary

This bill would require the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) to relocate tenants who lost their homes due to a fire or other emergency situation in the same, or immediately adjacent community district from where the fire or emergency situation occurred upon request. The bill would also require HPD to relocate such tenants to the nearest community district in the same borough when the tenant’s requested location is unavailable.
