Summary

This proposed legislation would require the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) to produce and distribute to city employees a pamphlet outlining the benefits of union membership and explain changes and provide clarity to city agencies and employees about the recent Supreme Court decision Janus v. AFSCME Council 31. This Court decision held that no public sector employee, having refused membership in a trade union, may be compelled to pay union dues to said union.
