A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York and the New York city building code, in relation to smoke detectors in Group M occupancies that are part of a mixed-use building

Summary

This bill would require Group M occupancies that are a part of a building that also includes Group R occupancies to install at least one smoke detector on each floor of the Group M occupancy. This requirement would apply to all new and existing buildings and must be met by January 1, 2020.
