Summary

This bill would require that, where a smoke alarm or detector is within an area of 20 feet from a stationary or fixed cooking appliance in all residential buildings, after January 1, 2021, that smoke alarms must be listed in accordance with the 8th edition of UL 217, and smoke detectors must be listed in accordance with the 7th edition of UL 268.
