A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring notice and review for transferring inmates to facilities outside New York city

Summary

State law permits the Department of Correction (“DOC”) to transfer any inmate to another local correctional facility in the State in certain circumstances. This bill would require the DOC to institute internal review procedures, notify a transferred inmate’s attorney, and permit inmates to notify their personal contacts regarding a transfer.
