Summary

This bill would require the Departments of Consumer Affairs and Health and Mental Hygiene to add a space on permit and license applications for applicants to note their language of choice for mailings related to inspection results, including settlement offers for alleged violations. It would require that any settlement offer required to include an opportunity to cure be sent in English and any language specified by the individual receiving the settlement offer on an applicable permit application or that the Department of Consumer Affairs has learned of through the Mayor’s Office of Operations.
