Summary

The proposed bill would require the Department of Homeless Services to produce a monthly report on the total number of families with children living in shelter or entering the shelter system disaggregated by shelter type; percentage of families found eligible disaggregated by number of applications submitted; the number of families and placed in shelter based on their individualized needs; the average length of stay for families and the total number of families leaving shelter to permanent housing; and metrics concerning school enrollment and attendance for children living in shelter.
